Cat care routine explained

Cats are not only beloved pets, but also our loyal companions who enchant us every day with their grace and charm. But while we love and cherish our cats, it can sometimes be difficult to find the right care for them, especially when we are travelling or can't be at home for other reasons.

In this article, I'll walk you through the process of cat sitting, from choosing a suitable sitter to tips for preparing your home to ensure your beloved furry friends are well looked after while you're away.

Hire a cat sitter in advance

If your cat or small animal is to stay at home during your holiday, then it is advisable to arrange a suitable cat sitter as early as possible. During the school holidays in particular, places with us cat sitters are rare, so I work according to the motto ‘first come, first served’.

To ensure that your pet receives the best possible care, I offer two models of cat and small animal care: 1x or 2x daily visits in Munich, Pasing-Obermenzing and the surrounding area.

Successful enquiry - what happens next?

An enquiry is always followed by a non-binding and free meeting between you, the pet owner, the cat and me, the cat sitter. Here you can ask me all your questions and explain to me what needs your pet has, favourite places/hiding places or give me little tips and tricks.

Has getting to know me been successful, and do you want to entrust your pet into my hands while you are away? Cat-(fan)tastic!

Now we'll discuss the exact days you'll be away and arrange a time to hand over the keys. Normally, this communication takes place via WhatsApp or a short phone call.

Invoice, handover of keys, other agreements & procedures

In the meantime, I will issue you with an invoice for the period of cat care discussed. This invoice will be checked by you and can be paid in cash, via PayPal or by bank transfer.
If you have to cancel the care of your pet, this is of course no problem, as long as you let me know at least 2 days in advance. After that, a cancellation fee will be charged.
➤ All legal information can be found in the terms and conditions.

Shortly before your departure, I will come by again to collect the key. You are also welcome to bring it to me, or we can meet in the centre.

This would also be the ideal time to make any special requests or discuss food quantities etc. again. My checklist can help you to prepare.
Of course, I am always happy to receive small pieces of paper if the food quantities need to be measured or medication needs to be administered in certain quantities. However, you should definitely fill out my small animal information sheet and place it where I can see it. That way you can be sure that I, as a cat sitter, really won't forget anything. And please don't forget to write down an appropriate emergency contact. This person should also have a key to your premises, just in case.

How cat sitting at your home works

I come daily at the agreed times and do all the agreed tasks. This includes feeding, cleaning the litter tray, refilling the drinking fountain or renewing the water bowls and airing the cat(s) properly. I also play with and brush the cat(s). I also like to water plants and bring in the post from the letterbox. If the rubbish bin needs putting out or the blinds need moving, I will of course also take care of these tasks. Here you can find another overview of my services. I will also send you daily updates with photos and news to keep you informed about the well-being of your cats.

You can of course write to me at any time if you have any further requests or would like more photos etc.

The end of cat & small animal care is approaching

As the end of the cat care programme draws near, you will certainly be looking forward to seeing your cat(s) again soon! After my last visit, I usually put the key in the letterbox. If you don't want me to do this, we can arrange a different form of handover. If you have only paid the deposit so far, the rest is due now. And finally, I am always very happy to receive a short Google review.
